That's just a matter of "sudo passwd root" and enabling it though, which I would do on the first boot on any distro SILLY enough to do that. I think they are talking about distros that disable the root account and direct you to use sudo. This "full control" thing they mention in several places in their promotional text. Manjaro can represent a perfect middle-ground for experienced Linux users, those who want good performance, full control, and cutting-edge software but also a degree of software version stability. It sounds like Manjaro does some version control though, which could mitigate the Arch back end. Something like that libboost shitshow isn't going to happen on kubuntu. There won't be package updates breaking my shit (well, maybe if I foolishly update the Padoka unstable PPA at the wrong time) because they are backported. However, *buntu is better for the gaming because it's at least a stable environment. I like two distros also, so I can work on one from the other.
